My other favorite car is my 1967 Lotus Elan S3 DHC. This is how it looks now, alot better than when I purchased it back in 1986:

When I first got it, the car had sat for 10 years and was in pretty poor condition. The fibreglass body was in reasonable condition but everything metal was rusty or seized up. The engine was ok and ran fine. I rebuilt the brakes and suspension and made it quite useable if not in great condition. It gave me great fun during my years at University and after until I built the Westfield. An MOT failure then forced me to lay it up again until I could fully restore it.

Over the Winter of 1998 The car was striped right down and restored. The main jobs being the paintwork, interior and exterior trim, brakes and engine. The chassis is an original lotus replacement but before they were galvanized so is pretty old but in good condition so I left this. Everything else was restored to as near original condition as possible.

Paint work was done mainly by friend and excellent crafts man Paul Cushion, with a little help from me.
